An interesting reference to the life and family of Victor can be found at https://books.google.fr/books?id=m0Q0CgAAQBAJ&pg=PT161&lpg=PT161&dq=victor+octave+xavier+alfred+de+morton+de+la+chapelle&source=bl&ots=zWas29LTUP&sig=ACfU3U09EhlJD-xloUd_zQixI5g3PBuMvQ&hl=en&sa=X&ved=2ahUKEwiD4PO9vYXzAhUJnBQKHf11Ca4Q6AF6BAgiEAM#v=onepage&q=victor%20octave%20xavier%20alfred%20de%20morton%20de%20la%20chapelle&f=false. and possibly from the family tree of Jean Hervé FABRE on google search.
There is another story regarding Victor published by the Oxford DNB and I believe that it provide an insight into Victor's life in England when he returned from Australia with his parents. The story indicates that he had a mistress and an illegitimate child and that could possibly be Rachel. Whilst the 1911 census shows him living with Rachel and his daughter Yvonne and were supposed to have married in 1904 there does not appear to be a record of that marriage or of the birth of Yvonne. We do have a record of Victors marriage to Mary PADDISON and she was living with him in 1891 but not in 1901 or 1911.
Mary married Count Victor Octave...who studied with her father Howard and became a well known figure in social and legal circles. Octavia and Mary had one daughter Aline who eloped and married an Argentinian immigrant worker while already pregnant with his child, fled to Argentina with him to run a cattle ranch, was widowed only a few years later. Mary had to travel to Argentina to bring Aline and her two young children back to England and raised them herself. By this time Mary was separated from the Count - he formed a relationship with Rachel and went to live in Essex. He shot himself in his office in the City of London.
